Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development will be offering Zumba® Fitness courses at Saint Ann's Catholic Church in Grantsville on Tuesdays, June 9 to July 7, 6- 7 p.m. Suitable for all ages, Zumba® is exercise in disguise. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves. The routines feature interval weight training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. It is recommended that participants bring a bottle of water, towel, and lightweights from 1lb - 2 ½ lbs. Starting out with toning sticks/weights 1 to 1 1/2lbs is recommended (although weights are not required). Please make sure to have a light snack ½ hour prior to the start of class. The instructor for the sessions will be Melanie Lombardi, a licensed Zumba® Fitness Instructor since October 2011. She is certified to teach Zumba Basic 1, Zumba Toning and Zumba Sentao. She has taught at several locations in Western Maryland including Energy Health and Fitness, Life Fitness Management, and its satellite site at the Western Maryland Health System and also at the Mountain City Center for the Arts.
