The 47th Annual State Fiddle Championships features fiddlers from 5 - 85 from a multi-state region as they compete for prizes and the state title. Enjoy a performance by this year's judges Cory & Heather Wharton during intermission. Heather Wharton was the 2010 Maryland Fiddle State Champion, 2008 Deer Creek Fiddle & Vocal Champion and the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Grand Fiddle Champion. Cory graduated from East Tennessee State University’s prestigious Bluegrass, Old-time and Country Music program. Jeff Munson was a member of Larry and Joe and the White Horse Mountain Boys, as well as the popular local bluegrass band, Highland Grass. Presented by the Town of Oakland and the Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area.
