My name is Matt Fields originally from the Appalachian mountains of Cumberland Maryland. Music became an integral part of my life when I was in my teens. I started to play the guitar when I was 13 years old and in 1995 I went to see The Grateful Dead for the first time. They became my main influence for what music should sound like. They were my introduction to all of the music that I play today like Blues, Country, Rock, and Bluegrass. Jerry Garcia was like my tour guide and I soaked it all up like a sponge. The first band I played in was a couple friends of mine in High School and through my 20's and into my 30's I always stayed in some sort of band writing and performing throughout Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Along the way I learned to play drums, bass, vocals, and harmonica. A couple years ago I came to realize that with a little bit of work I could put it all together in a one man show. Over the past year I have had more success than ever performing as a One-Man-Band with a harmonica wrapped around my neck, a guitar on my back, and drums at my feet. My show goes from the new to the old, from the blues to classic country, from bluegrass to rock, from Johnny Cash to Elton John to Fleetwood Mac to Patsy Cline to Ed Sheeran to the Beatles and Stones in way that people aren't used to seeing. Music has brought me to places that otherwise I would have never seen and put me through experiences that I would have never had and I am so very thankful to have been blessed with the gift to play it.
