Join your Chamber on Wednesday, September 3, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the Garrett College Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation when our very own Sarah Duck, Director of Tourism and Marketing will present Marketing Plan 101. Sarah will use Garrett County's tourism marketing plan to educate you on how to create your own business marketing plan. At this seminar, you'll learn the contents of a marketing plan, how to establish strategies, the difference between marketing and advertising and metrics of measurement.
Since 2007, Sarah has served as the Director of Tourism and Marketing at the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, where her duties include managing the promotion & marketing of the Deep Creek Lake area and Garrett County. Her efforts have propelled Garrett County to a 28% increase in visitors, including the highest visitors increase in Maryland in 2012. The County has also experienced a 23% increase in lodging collections including record collections in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2013. A 19% increase in county sales tax collections, 157% increase in Visitor Guide requests and a 22% increase in visitdeepcreek.com website visitors have helped secure the Deep Creek Lake area and Garrett County's spot as a premier vacation destination in the Mid-Atlantic.
