The Garrett Institute for Lifelong Learning (GILL) sessions are FREE to all GILL members, but members are encouraged to register. 'History: The Duel' will be presented by Dick Carroll. On the morning of July 11, 1804, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr fought the most famous duel in American History. It was the last battle of the long political war between the two men. When it was over, Hamilton was dead, Burr?s career was over, and the course of a nation was changed forever. Through film and discussion, participants will examine the careers of these two prominent figures and the course of events that led to a disastrous end for both. A repeat of this session is also scheduled on October 20 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the McHenry campus of Garrett College. If you are not a GILL member and wish to join in order to register for a session, please contact Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Garrett College at 301-387-3069.
