SUMMARY:Understanding Maryland FAMLI: What Every Employer Needs to Know
DESCRIPTION:This seminar\, presented by Brandon Younkin of CBIZ\, will provide Chamber members and the broader community with a comprehensive overview of Maryland's Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program. FAMLI will create new requirements for Maryland employers\, making it important for businesses of all sizes to understand their responsibilities and begin preparing for implementation.\n\n\n\nBeginning January 1\, 2027\, employers and employees will begin contributing to the program\, with benefits becoming available to eligible employees on January 1\, 2028. Employers will also need to determine whether to participate in the State-run program or offer an approved private plan.\n\n\n\nIn the seminar\, we will cover:\n\n	What FAMLI is\n	How it's funded\n	How the benefit works\n	and the differences in State and Private Plans\n\nWith important decisions and new obligations ahead\, this seminar is designed to give employers the information they need to prepare their businesses and employees for FAMLI.\n\n\n\nA light breakfast will be provided for all attendees. \n\n\n\nBio: Brandon Younkin is a Vice President of Employee Benefit Advisory at CBIZ Benefits and Insurance Services. Brandon is approaching his 6th year at CBIZ where he specializes in employer sponsored health program advisory and carries designations in both Disability Programs and Alternative Funding Strategies. Brandon takes tremendous pride in having family ties to Accident\, here in Garrett County\, and currently resides in Baltimore with his dog & unfortunately his beloved Baltimore Orioles.
